Goodbye Norwich

My time has come to an end, I’ve finished my placement at Farrows on Wednesday and I’m travelling back to Falmouth tomorrow. Where does time go…

My placement at Farrows I feel was fairly successful. I did three briefs within the time I was there, one which was a live brief. The work I completed for the live brief actually got chosen by the client and will be used for their company! I’ve attached my feedback form for you all to see how I did & I’ll be completing a written feedback form myself too. Everyone I met at Farrows are lovely and welcoming and one of the girls even welcomed me back which was lovely to hear. With the fast paced environment of Farrows maybe I’ll be more productive these next few months and transfer the skills I’ve learnt over into my university work!

Norwich has certainly been a lovely treat too, very cute and dainty with all the cobbled streets and cafes! I hope to have a reason to come back and visit again soon. For now its time to pack up my bags and get a good nights kip before the long journey tomorrow. Start back work sunday and two deadlines looming, I have a busy week… so may be quiet for a little while.

Have a lovely weekend!

One week down

So I’ve managed one whole week at Farrows & had cake and a brew made for me from the Boss! Not bad, not bad…

For the last few days I’ve been working on a new live brief, a challenging one at that. Delving into the big world of web design. For a local holiday company in Norwich, I’ve been redesigning their website… web design is something I’ve hardly touched on before and by doing this project I’ve learnt all about responsive web design, how to make sites look more trustworthy and also fixed resolution and how to solve the problem of multiple size formats! I’ve enjoyed looking at websites and how they work, it’s a big world that I’m only just stepping into, however the guys at Farrows have liked my work so far!

I’m back at the desk monday morning and apparently there may be a tweet about me somewhere, so lets see what happens! More cake hopefully & another live brief!

First Brief Butterflies

So all is going well!

Walked in monday morning and was set a live brief working on a branding and identity project of an architectural business. The chap I’ve been working with has been lovely and helpful and also really complimentary towards my work! My idea has also been sent off to the client today as one of the key concepts, which I was very happy to hear and I feel are baby steps at my placement! With being the only female designer, the conversation is hard sometimes but with a never-ending supply of biscuits and a stream of tea. I think I could get the hang of it! Another early morning tomorrow, a new brief and some feedback from my supervisor. Lets hope it’s another sunny day in Norwich (The Nelson County).
